Silent Tsunami of Hunger

Fuel prices ticked me off today when oil nearly topped $120 a barrel. One expert says he expects it to go as high as $180 a barrel. We’re given new excuses every week for why prices are skyrocketing at the pump, and none of them are good. Oh, they might sound legitimate, but people know when they’re being exploited by power and greed-driven agendas.  What greed did to the housing and mortgage industries it will do to the energy market sooner or later, too.

Speaking of the housing market, I read tonight that there’s no help coming for 70% of borrowers in the subprime market—that there are about 1,000,000 homeowners today who are facing foreclosure and are in danger of losing their homes. Many wonder if they’ll be homeless soon.

Then, just a few minutes ago, I read about the silent tsunami of hunger, which you can read about by clicking this link:  http://silent tsunami of hunger.

Although I pay a few cents more at the pumps, the price of rice has more than doubled in the past three weeks. The global food crisis threatens more than 20,000,000 of the world’s poorest children.

Our planet is in trouble and needs help. I think of the pain people are going through—the pain of a mother and father hearing their children cry because they’re going to bed hungry...the pain of a family walking into uncertainty as they walk away from their house...the pain of love lost and relationships ending because of the pressures caused by these situations.

Although we can be a part of the solution if we choose to, we are not the solution. Never before have more people been enlightened about the so called law of attraction yet find themselves trapped in a living nightmare instead of living their dreams.

We need a new earth. And one is on its way. A new world where everyone has a house, mortgage-free (John 14:1-3), and where no tears are shed because someone’s little boy or girl is going to bed hungry (Revelation 21:1-5).
